Geotechnical Support

Function:

This person will assist geotechnical engineering project managers will all levels of field investigations and report generation.

Responsibilities:

Assist with entering and reviewing laboratory data, technical writing of letters and reports, preparing graphics for and assembling soils and geologic reports. This person will also conduct fieldwork including setting up percolation tests, logging test pits of boreholes, assisting in soils/geologic investigations, and construction observation/inspection, as directed by the project manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

They should have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and excellent computer skills including, but not limited to such programs as Word, Excel, and AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will have some experience in geology, soils, drafting, engineering, soil lab testing and/or construction.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience needed with technical writing (letters, reports). Some college-level science and mathematics classes such as geology, earth science, chemistry, physics, soils mechanics lab, surveying, technical writing, and algebra. Any mapping or GIS experience.
