This candidate’s primary purpose would be to be a project manager of geotechnical investigations for residential, municipal and commercial development.

Duties to include all project phases including proposal preparation, client contact, field investigations, data analysis and modeling, design, and report generation. After becoming familiar with our procedures and geologic/soils conditions, this candidate would be assigned a geographic area within our region to manage geotechnical projects in that area. Any specialization will also be encouraged, such as geologic hazard mitigation, slope stability analyses, excavation stabilization plans and retaining wall designs.

The candidate will be a geotechnical or geological engineer (EIT or PE) with 2 to 5 years experience performing geotechnical. This person should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in civil or geological engineering. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Strong computer skills are needed, including knowledge of Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and any slope stability or geologic hazard analysis programs.

B.S. or M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering or Geological Engineering. Experience with drilling, test pit excavations, soil and rock classifications, geologic interpretation, and geologic hazard identification are essential. Specialization or experience with instrumentation installation, slope stability analyses, foundation design, deep foundations, pavement design, retaining wall design, soil nailing, ground anchors, expansive soils, geologic mapping, geologic hazard analysis and mitigation, and laboratory testing are helpful.
