Environmental
Many of our projects require consideration of environmental regulations. Our Environmental Group provides design, submittals and compliance documents to support our engineering projects. These documents include:
- Preparation of Storm Water Management Plans (SWMP) required for construction sites over one acre and for specific industrial land use as mandated under the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) administered by the State of Colorado. These plans require design of site-specific Best Management Practices (BMP’s) to mitigate potential impacts.
- Preparation of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments to meet the ASTM Standard Practice for E1527 as required by lenders for commercial and industrial estate transactions.
- Design and permitting for new installations or upgrades of underground and above-ground storage tanks to meet State requisites for Spill Prevention and Response.
- Design and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permitting for compliance with the Clean Water Act pertaining to wetlands and waters of the state.
- Hydraulic Facilities design for pilot plant and treatment facilities for water quality improvement.
- Design and permit riverbank and bed stabilization improvements.
By integrating these environmental services into our general scope of services, Buckhorn Geotech is able to identify issues early in the project planning stage. Immediate identification of environmental permitting needs allows us to avoid or mitigate potential problems and allow for timely project implementation. We also can initiate discussion with regulatory agencies at the onset of the design phase to facilitate ordinance review and permitting.
Buckhorn Geotech maintains professional relationships with wildlife and wetlands biologists who can assist us with complex environmental projects.
