Serving Western Colorado Since 1978
Water resources are often an integral part of project design in Western Colorado.
Our Water Resource personnel provide:
A project completed on a large ranch near Ridgway, Colorado, exemplifies the scope of our Water Resource services.
The ranch had a water source that was historically unreliable and of questionable quality. Our analysis comprised estimating existing and future water use, peak demands and storage requirements. We prepared a detailed evaluation of geologic formations and structures, drainage basins, spring occurrences and regional well data. Annual patterns of creek flow were determined, spring discharges measured and water quality tested.
Estimates of water development cost (including treatment, pumping and piping) from alternative sources were compiled and compared with the cost and convenience of connecting to the public water system.
After considering all factors, the owner chose to develop a spring source. Water right applications were arranged and an augmentation plan filed. Finally, engineering plans for spring development and construction of the treatment, storage and distribution systems were provided.
